Male Breast Cancer

Wow... niceBreast cancer is traditionally thought of as a female-related problem. Men, however, are as susceptible to the disease as women are. In many ways, the disease appears similarly in both sexes.

The reason why we don't hear about the disease in men as often as for women is simply because it occurs less frequently in men. This is also the reason why researchers have a hard time studying the disease and the effects it has on a bigger male population.

Early signs, however, indicate that the disease is more manageable and has higher successful treatable rates than when found in women.

In the United States, male breast cancer accounts for 1% of cases of breast cancer, and it represents about 0.2% of all malignancies in men. In women, breast cancer represents 26% of all cancers. In addition, all of the types of breast cancer seen in women can occur in men, although some are quite rare.

Take care of you body dudes. Do self-inspections like the girls. :)
